Active School Week began today. We have lots of activities planned throughout the week. Today we started with a whole school assembly in the Halla. The active school committee informed the rest of the school of all the different things happening in the school for the week. They also reminded the children to keep an eye on the Active School Noticeboard for any updates during the week.
Children from 1st to Third Class completed half an hour football sessions with local Gaelic football coaches and local Cork Ladies U16 players. The children had lots of fun and learned new skills.
4th - 6th Class completed Mindfulness in groups in the afternoon with Peadar Aspel Mindfulness Coach. This was completed in connection with the 'active mind' and the importance of looking after our Mental Health by taking time for ourselves. The children learned new skills to help them to take breathers from their busy life which will also help them right into the future.
We are extremely grateful to all volunteers who are giving their time to school this week as Active School Week would not be possible without their co-operation.
All classes completed and recorded part of the School Marathon. We are delighted that we are nearly there. We should have it completed by the end of Active School Week.
Please check out the Active School and News sections for any other updates throughout the week. Take a look at some photos taken during activities below also.
