Our School performances in the Edel Quinn Hall are as follows:-
Friday December 8th: Junior Infants (Ms O’Riordan) Junior and Senior Infants (Mrs Linehan), Senior Infant (Mrs O’Shea) classes First & Second (Mrs Courtney) will be on stage .
Show starts at 7.30pm. Please note - All pupils need to be dropped at 6.30pm. Parents can leave them and they will be supervised by staff. At the interval parents from Ms O’Riordan’s and Mrs Linehan class can collect the children at the top of the hall in front of the stage. Ms Courtney ‘s and Mrs O’Shea’s classes will be on stage after the interval and can be collected at the end of the night at the top of the hall also.
Doors open to the public Friday at 7.15pm
Saturday 9th December : 2nd & 3rd (Mrs Murphy ) 4th & 5th (Mrs Meehan) 5th & 6th (Ms Guiney . Children in Mrs Meehan’s class and Mrs Murphy ‘s class can be dropped to the hall for rehearsals at 6.30pm.
Children in Ms Guiney’s Class can be dropped to the hall at 6.00pm.
Doors open to the public Saturday at 7.45pm.
All pupils need to wear black shoes for the performances. They can wear a track suit bottom / leggings and a top when coming on the night. They will change into their costumes with the help of staff before their performances.
Tickets €5 and this allows entry for Friday and Saturday night. The Parents Association will be selling these tickets outside the school this week and they can also be purchased from the school office.
As this is our first big performance on stage we are very proud of all our pupils who are practising every week and we wish them all the best next week. We ask you to bear with us with all the organising around this event. Any queries please ring the office.
Classes from 3rd – 6th are invited to sing /perform at the Senior Citizens Xmas Party on 19th December at 6.00 until 6.45. Any child who is able to come on the night bring back permission note by Friday.
Gymnastics continues for 4 more weeks . The cost is €5 in total. Please send in money if you haven’t done so already.
Well done to our Kanturk Hurling Team and best wishes to them on December 2nd in London against Kilburn Gaels.
Mrs Meehan’s class will travel to Limerick on Wednesday 6th December to take part in a conference on the Marine Environment. They will exhibit their project on “Marine Litter” .
We wish them well on their trip.
Well done to our two public speaking teams who are taking part in the IRD Public Speaking Competition . Firstly our team consisting of Ava Hynes, Emma Krenzer, Johannah Piggot,
Mathea Scanlon who have qualified for the final. Bests wishes to Sarah Humphreys, Amy Linehan, Sophie Murphy and Mary Sheehan who are taking part tomorrow night (Wednesday 29th November).
Well done to our teams who took part in the Boherbue School Quiz on Friday night

It is the end of the school year and what a busy year it has been.
The following are some of the events and activities that took place.

The school has been sanctioned an Early Intervention ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder ) Class in September . This class facilitates pupils aged from 3 – 5 with an A.S.D .diagnosis. We welcome the opening of this class in September as it is a positive and beneficial development in Education for Kanturk and the surrounding areas . We welcome your support going forward.
We raised our 3rd Green Flag (Water) on Friday and members of IRD and Tidy Towns attended the event.
We wish our 6th class girls who are going to Second Level in September and the best of luck to them in the next chapter of their lives.
All the best to our Senior Infant boys who will be going to the Boys School in September.
A special farewell to Fr. Boyle who has been transferred to Fermoy Parish.
Many thank for all who supported and sponsored our Skipathon. A massive €2,500 was raised and the money collected is going towards P.E , science equipment and Books for Book Rental .
On behalf of the staff I wish you a safe and happy summer break and we look forward to seeing you on Thursday 31st August.
