So- We are all back after a lovely Christmas break - a well deserved break after a very very busy term where our girls had lots of activities and outings!!!
November : This month saw two of our teams compete in the final of the IRD Primary School Public Speaking Competition . A huge achivement to reach the final well done girls and congrats to all prizewinning teams on the night and Ciara Linehan 6th class who received best speaker in the final .
November also saw us celebrate science week where we took part in quizzes and even made up our own experiments to share with the class. We also paid a visit to the local library and got to meet author Judi Curtin whose books always go down a treat in our class.
December: The run up to Christmas was so busy for us .
We had a visit from Deirdre O Reilly who was part of the All Ireland winning Cork ladies football team. As part of our Advent promise the girls decided to donate food the the Cork charity Cork Penny Dinners-thank you to all the girls for their food donations - the charity were overwhelmed with their generosity!!
We also provided entertainment for the Senior Citizen's Christmas Party in the Golf Club, as well as taking part in Carol Singing at the Bank and Credit Union
Finally a nice treat was in store for us before the holidays when the Animal Road Show visited the school , some of us were brave enough to have a snake around our necks . Take a look at our pictures below :-)
Hard to believe we have our first term completed in 5th and 6th class. We have been really busy , working hard while still having time for a bit of fun in between .We get loads of opportunities to work together and this month presented our projects on Italy to the class . We had great fun finding out about Italy and some of us have it on the to-do list for our next holiday.
We had a great day at the Duhallow Rural Schools Grading blitz in Rathcoole with the girls winning all their games - the future looks bright! WEll done girls
We took on the role of buddies for the new junior Infants showing them around the yard and playing games with them at break time. We are in the middle of completing a 6 week programme of PE in Scoil Mhuire where transition years are teaching us really fun games. We look forward to see what the next term has in store :)
