-- SCIENCE WEEK 9th -13th This week we are directing alot of attention to science. We are exploring how water is filtered, how mixtures can be separated and what solids dissolve in water. We also did a class quiz with some funny jokes thrown in.On Tuesday Hagar Solioman, Ciara o Regan and Ciara Linehan travelled to UCC to take part in a Science quiz organised by Lifetime Lab. Over 220 children packed into Devere Hall for the occasion. The girls got on really well and were in the top ten . Excellent work girls!. Our senior team came in second place after winning a very exciting tie break round with four other schools. They narrowly missed out on a first place finish and we are very proud of all our participants!! See some new photos below.
WATER EXPLORERS- Our class are part of a global network of schools taking part in water awareness and conservation. It involves activities and challenges to help the children learn about the importance of this natural resource. We are doing really well in our challenges and are currently top of the irish leader board!! Check out waterexplorers.org for more info. WELL DONE CLASS!!!
We finished up November with a BLAST!!!! ...of bagpipes. Thanks to Tim Goulding (Sophie's Grandad) for coming to our classroom and entertaining us with lots of interesting facts about the bagpipes. He also played some lovely music and we got a chance to play.

Our Water Explorers project continues with some new challenges. Thanks to everybody who took part in the Water survey. Our blogspot was chosen for the International Page on the website. Excellent work, class! We have started using iPads in our classroom as an extra teaching tool, especially in the area of English and Maths. IT WAS THE QUIETEST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAUGHT!!!!
