The Convent of Mercy N.S. is situated on Church Street, Kanturk. It presently has 182 pupils enrolled in the school. There are 7 full mainstream classes. Boys are enrolled in the school for Junior and Senior Infants and transfer to St. Colman Boys School. There are 9 full time teachers. Our school is a place in which a safe and secure learning environment is cultivated. We promote and encourage respect for oneself and others at all times. We hope that our pupils enjoy their school experience encompassing  learning, social interaction, self development etc

Water Explorers Water and Food Award  - A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to the Water Masters of fifth/sixth class. They were recently nominated to represent Ireland for the great project work they have done in raising awareness about  the importance of WATER. The GREAT NEWS came that our school WON out of nineteen schools from around the world!!! We hope to video some of the work and activities and our video will be shown at the awards ceremony in BEIJING, CHINA!!!! We are delighted and very proud of the Water Masters

Well done to our football team who won their 4 games at the Grading Blitz in Rathcoole. Many thanks to their teacher Sinead Guiney and Martin Farrissey for coaching them. We are very proud of them.

'Strictly comes to Kanturk' is being launched on Sunday 23rd October by our very busy Parents Association. All contestants names will be revealed next week on the 'Strictly comes to Kanturk' facebook page . All money raised will go towards our Literacy programme, Science and Maths equipment and subsidising swimming, trips and extra curricular activities. The event will be held in the Edel Quinn Hall on Friday 9th December  .This is going to be a very exciting and fun event. All our contestants are local people and will be in training for the next 7 weeks. The Parents Association are asking you to support this event.


Our school is indeed a busy place this term . There are lots of events happening.


Literacy Lift off will finish in Mrs. O Shea's Senior Infant class this week and will begin in Mrs Linehan's Senior Infants for November. Aistear will take place in Mrs O Shea's class after the break. 

Team teaching and in class support will continue in classrooms

1st &2nd class and 5th&6th class are going to Scoil Mhuire every Thursday  for 6 weeks and are being coached by the transition year pupils. Some of the skills they are coaching involve football ,athletics, basketball and badminton. A great experience for all.

Gymnastics with  Patsy O Reilly will begin in November for 6 weeks
